I am a diplomate of Asian Bodywork Therapy and am certified by National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I graduated from Minnesota Center for Shiatsu Study in 1998 and also took an advanced course in Tui Na, studying with Dr. Wei Lui for about 16 months. My practice includes both men and women and kids as well! I love the holistic approach of Chinese medicine, and have seen first hand how well it works on complaints of all sorts. Subtle, gentle and deeply penetrating, it is effective and relaxing.
The goal of Acupressure, Shiatsu and other ABT forms is to move Qi and blood in the body. Moving this energy, opening blockages and balancing the Qi happens through holding and pressing acupoints and by doing various hand techniques and stretches to balance and harmonize the body. Pain, stiffness, and illness arise from an imbalance of vital life force in the body. Asian Bodywork Therapy can restore that balance. It is recommended for acute and chronic conditions and as part of an overall wellness plan.
I have a degree in Child Development from the University of Connecticut and have worked with kids, worked as a silkscreen printer and spent many years in the natural foods industry. I currently have a part time job selling ads for two Co-Op publications.
I enjoy gardening, watercolor painting and drawing the natural world, walking with my two dogs (see below) and spending time with friends.
